City of Salzburg

The last stage of our trip will be the city of Salzburg, the fourth largest city in Austria. Considered by many the city of music, this is where Mozart was born and where the movie “ The Sound of Music” was shot, Salzburg is also famous for its baroque architecture

One of the top attractions in Salzburg is the Hohensalzburg fortress, the largest fortress in Europe that was preserved in its entirety.

Built in 1077 by Archbishop Gebhard, the fortress became famous because it was never conquered by enemy armies. The attractions in the fortress are the Princess Chambers and the Fortress Museum. We will end our trip with a tour of Old Town famous for its beautiful baroque architecture. The city is full of impressive churches, mostly dating from the Middle East. We will stop the Cathedral famous for the architecture and its frescos. Then we will return to Munich and get ready for departure.
